Abstact Guidelines

SCIENTIFIC WORK GUIDELINES

Scientific Committee OCCUCON-2023, New Delhi invites you to submit an abstract to be considered for inclusion in the Scientific Program of the OCCUCON-2023, New Delhi. Accepted abstracts will be presented during OCCUCON-2023, New Delhi.

Please carefully read the abstract guidelines below before submitting an abstract. Abstracts can be submitted through email or electronically through web page of OCCUCON-2023, New Delhi. It is the author's responsibility to submit a correctly edited and accurate abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author. Abstracts will be rejected if they contain no data or if the English is unacceptable. All presenting authors will receive detailed presentation guidelines when their abstract has been accepted.

The theme of the Conference focuses on the current status and the future of Occupational Health in India. It also underlines that integration & synergy with occupational safety & hygiene, environment and collaboration with various allied organizations and international agencies is the key to securing sustainable future of Occupational Health in the country.

 Abstracts may be submitted for both Oral as well as Poster presentation.

Poster presentations should be in the standard size of 4 feet (Height) X 3 feet (Width). Poster should be in English. Charts, Drawings and Illustration must have self-explanatory notes. Font size should be readable from 1.5 meters distance. Author should remain present at the poster site for discussion for his/her work at the scheduled time for exhibition at the conference.

Time for oral presentation of each Scientific Paper will be restricted to 8 minutes, with additional 2 minutes for Q&As.

We encourage work that introduces new ideas and concepts, research and understandings to the field, as well as analysis of both successes and failures. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your abstract:

Abstract Guidelines

  • The abstracts will be accepted in English medium only.
  • The abstracts shouldn’t exceed more than 300 words.
  • Please avoid diagrams, illustration, tables, reference & graphics. Provide maximum relevant information.
  • Kindly avoid usage of abbreviations in title. Abbreviations may be used in text if they are defined.
  • The abstract submitted will be reviewed and acceptance information will be communicated on the email id provided.
  • The work must be original research from the Author.
  • The paper/poster must not be presented/published in any other earlier conferences.
  • The title of the abstract should be less than 30 words.
  • The body of the abstract must be concise with less than 300 words. The abstract system will not accept abstracts that exceed 300 words (body of the abstract).
  • The abstract must have following sections:
    • Background / introduction
    • Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  • There are two types of presentation available
    • Oral
    • Poster
  • Please note that selecting oral will not ensure your abstract is considered for oral presentation. As presentation slots are limited and the abstract may be reallocated for Open Paper Presentation.
  • Please ensure that you indicate the presenting author on the abstract. If the submitting author is also the presenting author then please mark this as the presenting author.
  • Tables must be attached into the body of the abstract – a maximum of 2 can be submitted. Please note that inserting tables will reduce your word capacity.
  • Careful proof reading and typing are essential, as otherwise the abstract may be amended or rejected.
  • Results reported using statements such as “results will be presented” or “data will be analysed” will not be accepted.

Organization of the Abstract

In order to make the abstract as informative as possible, please provide:

  • A brief statement of the purpose of the study
  • The method used
  • The result observed
  • The conclusions based upon the results

It is inadequate to state "The results will be discussed" or "The data will be presented. We kindly ask you to subtitle the paragraphs in bold format in the following order: Background, Method, Results, and Conclusions

Abstract Revisions

Changes to abstracts are accepted only until the submission deadline by using the abstract submission website

Submission Deadline

Last date for abstract submission is 31st December 2022

Abstract Submission Disclosure Policy

OCCUCON-2023, New Delhi requires that presenting authors submit all conflict of interest disclosures.

Notification of Acceptance

Notification of acceptance/rejection will be emailed by the end of December 2022. The presenting author will receive all correspondence regarding the abstract status, presentation type, date and time on their email.

Copyright Policy

Abstracts should not include libellous or defamatory content. Material presented in abstracts should not violate any copyright laws. If figures/graphics/images have been taken from sources not copyrighted by the author, it is the author's sole responsibility to secure the rights from the copyright holder in writing to reproduce those figures/graphics/images for both worldwide print and web publication. All reproduction costs charged by the copyright holder must be borne by the author.

Resubmission Policy

  • An abstract which has been previously published or presented at a national, regional or international meeting can only be submitted provided that there are new methods, findings, updated information or other valid reasons for submitting.
  • If preliminary or partial data have been published or presented previously, the submitting author will be required to provide details of the publication or presentation, along with a justification of why the abstract merits consideration for OCCUCON2-2023, New Delhi. This information will be considered by the Scientific Committee when making final decisions.
  • If the author neglects to provide these required details and justification, or if evidence of previous publication or presentation is found, the abstract will be rejected.

Plagiarism

The conference organizers regard plagiarism as serious professional misconduct. All abstracts are screened for plagiarism and when identified, the abstract and any other abstracts submitted by the same author are rejected.

Registration and Payment

  • The presenting author must register for the Conference and pay the registration fee before 31st December 2022.
  • Abstracts will be automatically withdrawn if the presenting author is not registered.

Travel

Abstract presenters are responsible for arranging and paying for their own registration, travel and hotel arrangements
